A unique undertaking of transforming a 1980’s stucco finished 16,000sf retail single story box into a Carbon Neutral Net Zero office building for the BC Government. The building envelope was upgraded to PassivHaus standards, the gas connection disconnected as geothermal energy provided heat and cooling, and lastly, 100kW solar roof top PVs supplied the 20% energy to close the loop.
Interiors prioritize occupants' health and inclusivity, inspired by LEED and WELL criteria. This project stands as a beacon of sustainability, inclusivity, and respect for Indigenous cultures and the environment, setting a model for future developments.
